Watching the days gone by
Feb 5 2007. Monday. I am again in Hachiyama. With the test group, about to finish the WebCuscon Step 9 module for its tentative release on this month. Step 9 is the second module that I am involved with as an Intracompany-transferee here, in Tokyo. I am involved in all the phases of this Step 9 module's C&C function. From coding, creation of test items, execution of test items, right until on the client's opposing test. Actually this is not the job description I know that was shown to me before I accepted the Intra-transferee offer. I am supposed to act as a BSE or Bridge Software Engineer. As a BSE, I am supposed to act as a communication bridge between NSP and NCOS. See to it that specifications are clearly understood by NSP and monitor the progress of each phases of every Step of WebCuscon. But somehow, i am like doing a business trip here in Tokyo. I dont even had the chance to communicate with NSP on Step 9 because I was assigned on a different module. Next month, March 2007, would mark my 1 year stay here in Tokyo, and so far my expectation on my job here is disappointing. Nothing is new. Nothing is inspiring. Just a normal business trip cycle. Just a redundant and boring job that I have been doing for the last 5 years in NSP. Anyway, being assigned here places a responsibility on my shoulder to train, (daw), some engineers on what I have learned on my two-year stay here in Tokyo, to "pass on" rather. I was wondering what would I train or pass on if what I have learned here is nothing new in NSP. Next year, March 2008, I will be going back home, something I am looking forward to. One more year and thats it, 12 more months of "business trip", 365 more days that I will be wasting instead of exploring on new environment or new technology. What a waste!!!
