Divinity Less

Some of my friends told me that I could become a poet. I strongly oppose to that idea and told them that being a poet is not easy, its not a potential, its a gift. You need to be able to live in a certain divine state of mind somewhere in the eye of a typhoon of words. Yet in that state you will be able to pick a single word out of it and form a delicate word, as delicate as a blooming rose. Which means being a poet is difficult and im far from it (",). Yet I met people who openly declare themselves as poets, and looking at their works, their not even close to it. Sadly, I wrote this piece for them to convey the idea that being a poet is not that easy, its like being a hermit, you should have a way to detach yourself from reality and view the world in a way so unique, in a language so familiar yet different. A poet is more divine than a Greek god.

Divinity Less

why do i choose to be obscure or oblique
to gods n geniuses i only seek to speak
why does imagination could uplift me
when in reality, i sink and lay weak

why do i build emblems with my words
when iron or fire is of the mightiest lords
why can i draw Zeus' potency with my pen
and Ares' rage, with feathers of birds

with a wish, i could make the universe reborn
and mold riddles from the simplest morn
out of the dark and desolate reality, i rise
to my unreal dominion unfathomed, unworn

i could watch the storm in a perfect velvet
or feast with a painting's thousand-word banquet
what divinity do i bear in this realm
to be more like a god but less than a poet

Life's Fireworks

Its a new year! A new page, a new sky, new days, new evenings, new challenges for a new me. I have seen wonderful fireworks in Japan's Hanabi Celebreation. It lasted for hours, hours of unending bloom of breathtaking fireworks, so it seems. After one bursted and faded, an excitement follows of what would comes next. 2005 had just bursted and faded, and only stays in our memories, and now we are filled with excitement of what would this year would offer us. Every day would be revealing, every night in waiting, every month a new hope for this year's blessings. Whatever this year has to offer, surely, we deserved it.

To Catch The Rain

Its far beyond any explanation. So dont try to squeeze out an explanation from me on how did I came up with this poem. Its simply for the girl I deeply like. (",)

To Catch The Rain

It was clear and the sky is bluest
and the Wind is on her placid rest
but with the glimpse on your grace
My peace is fathomed by your passionate rain

I saw stars in your eyes,
and, in your lips, I heard lullabies;
With your smile, ill drift insane,
in a deluge of your lingering rain

I lay meek in the universe of your gaze,
and the constellations formed in its breathtaking blink.
how can i resist the grace of your skies,
the sweet smell of your enchanted rain

How can I live now if I leave your reign
Your allure is far beyond my mindful sane
You complete me with a taste of your clouds
My life, ill spend, to catch your divine rain

What has life to offer ...

Haven't you noticed how life weave its cycle? At first, you were born, playing it smooth and wish to grow up fast; then you spent more than ten years of your life for education, dealing obstacles with determination; then here comes work to stay all for a lifetime. We seem to live in order to work and not to work in order to live. But with all these options, life has offered us nothing but work. Yes, reality bites, that is why we always try to look at its sunny side, because life's reality sucks. And then, we wish we never grew up whenever we hear the laughter of children that tell us how light and smooth the life we once had. Life that we wish to leave because the grass seems greener on the adult's side. So, after all of these, we marry, have children, and so we must work harder and harder for them for this is what life has to offer. Now, are we just like little children who wish to leave this part of life fast? Then life seems greener on death's side... if that's what you call 'life after death'.

Life's A Piece of Cake

When my boss told me that I, alone, will be going to Tokyo with her for the system integration of our project, honestly, I got worried. At that time, its just about a month since I was assigned to that project, and though I was able to familiarize its technology quickly, still it was hard for me to understand all of its functionalities. But now, I just arrived from Tokyo, safe and sound, and fulfilled. The hardest challenge as I thought it would be had turned out to be just a walk in a park. Sure it was tough but it made me tougher. Again, I am reminded, that no matter how we think life would be that hard, with God's help, life is just a piece of cake. So let's enjoy it.
